NAPOLI legend Gianfranco Zola has likened Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.
Zola believes the Napoli striker is the heir to Lukaku, who left Inter Milan for Chelsea in a £97.5 million August.
Osimhen, who joined Napoli from Lille at the beginning of last season for around €80 million and scored 10 goals in 30 appearances, has netted three times this term in four games.
Napoli have won their opening four Serie A games of the season and can go to the top of the table if they beat Sampdoria on Thursday.
“Napoli are really strong in every department,” Zola, who played alongside the iconic Diego Maradona at Napoli in the late 1980s and early 1990s, told Football Italia.
“They have Osimhen, Insigne and Politano up front, they have quality in midfield, a solid defence with Kalidou Koulibaly and two reliable goalkeepers. I can’t see weak points in their team.
“I didn’t know Osimhen when he arrived last year, but I’ve studied him a little and I’ve discovered a talented player.
“His movements are so good and his athletic strength can be devastating. He is Lukaku’s heir, he is still young and with room for improvement.”
Zola scored 36 goals in 136 appearances with Napoli in their golden era between 1989 and 1993.
He then joined Parma and Chelsea before returning to Cagliari where he ended his career in 2005.
