IN a bid to strengthen ties with its indigenes outside the shores of Nigeria, the Edo State Government has constituted a 13-member Diaspora Media-Connect Forum.

Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Hon. Adaze Andrew Emwanta, said the Forum is the first leg of constructive engagement with stakeholders.

The body is chaired by Musa Amedu, who is based in London, United Kingdom.

Dr Ohens Joseph, based in California, United States, is its Alternative Chairman while Jonathan ldele-Ero is Secretary.

Ehi Braimah, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Naija Times, is a member of the Forum.

Dr. Ikpenmwosa Umuavbi, Sir. Solomon Imhiosen, Petrina Olumese, Godwin Osa-Osagie, and Amb. Ken Oloye are also part of the Forum.

Others are Abiemwense Cynthia Omoruyi, Pastor Barry Ighodaro, Daniel Okoruwa, and Benson Eribo.

The Forum is tasked with “identifying areas of possible collaboration between the Edo State Ministry of Communication and Orientation and external bodies interested in the promotion of public communications and social orientation related activities.”

The other objective of the Forum is to “serve as a medium of information exchange between the Ministry and Edo people in the Diaspora.”

In addition, the Forum is expected to “help disseminate the developmental activities of the present Edo State Government beyond the shores of Nigeria and mobilise support for the ‘Making Edo Great Again’ (MEGA) media campaign in the Diaspora.”
