JOSE Mourinho could not hide his displeasure at the officiating of the Serie A fixture between AS Roma and AC Milan on Sunday night.
Milan won the encounter 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Franck Kessie scoring for the Rossoneri, while Stephan El Shaarawy pulled one back for the hosts.
Milan’s second goal was from the penalty spot and Roma manager Mourinho and the club’s fans felt the award for the spot-kick was controversial.
Although Milan also felt harshly treated that Theo Hernandez was sent off in the 66th minute, insisting there was a Roma foul just before his, it was Mourinho that was fuming at full-time.
“Well done to AC Milan,” the former Chelsea manager said in his post-match interview.”I don’t want to say anything else – because if I do then I won’t be in the dugout for next weekend’s game.
“I am a bit annoyed about the lack of respect shown tonight for our fans, for all of those who love this club.
“We had that respect, in a game where we didn’t play brilliantly but we at least tried everything to get back into the game.
“That respect for the contest, which we showed throughout, others haven’t given us tonight. And that annoys me. And that’s all I have to say.”
Sunday’s defeat was Mourinho’s first-ever home loss after 43 games in Serie A, including his time at Inter Milan.
Roma are in fourth place in Serie A with 19 points from 11 games, 12 points behind Milan who are second, level on points with leaders Napoli.
