KUDA Technologies has announced that it has partnered Visa, a leading global digital payment company, to issue virtual and physical Visa cards to customers.
This was disclosed in a company statement which said the move was aimed at driving the firm’s independent payment cards offering.
The statement partly read, “Kuda’s proposition of zero fees on cards, account maintenance and transfers as well as its low-interest credit offering delivered conveniently through smartphones and the web have made it particularly attractive to the millennials, and the bank now has almost two million customers in its launch country, Nigeria, where it operates as Kuda Microfinance Bank under a licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria.”
The Chief Executive Officer, Kuda Technologies, Babs Ogundeyi, was quoted as saying, “Visa inspires confidence, and partnering with them to help us offer reliable card services independently has been one of our top priorities since Kuda launched in 2019. We’re proud that we’ve finally made this happen and we look forward to promoting cashless payments across Africa together.”
Also speaking about the partnership, the Country Manager, Visa Nigeria. Andrew Uaboi, was quoted as saying, “The rapid pace of technology innovation has driven a powerful shift in business and consumer expectations in financial services.”
