REMO Stars continued their impressive start to the Nigeria Professional Football League campaign with a 2-1 win away to Wikki Tourists on Sunday.
The newly promoted side, coached by veteran Gbenga Ogunbote, are yet to lose after six matches this season.
The Ogun State-based club took a 2-0 lead on Sunday before the hosts pulled one back.
Dayo Ojo opened the scoring for Remo Stars after just 11 minutes and Abdullahi Oyedele doubled their advantage in the 63rd minute.
Salisu Adamu struck in the 74th minute to give Wikki Tourists some hope, but the visitors held on for a famous victory.
Remo Stars kept their spot at the top of the standings with 14 points from six matches, while Wikki are 15th with six points.
Also on Sunday, Rivers United outclassed Kwara United 3-0 to retain their second position in the table.
The Pride of Rivers scored through Nyima Nwagua in the first half as well as Ishaq Rafiu and Chidiebube Duru after the break to secure the comfortable victory.
Rivers United are two points behind Remo Stars while Kwara United are eighth with eight points.
In Ibadan, hosts Shooting Stars Sports Club had to come from behind to get a 2-2 draw against South West rivals Sunshine Stars of Akure.
Gafar Olafimihan sent the packed Lekan Salami Stadium into jubilation with a 22nd minute penalty to give 3SC the lead, but Anthony Anioke equalised for the visitors five minutes before half-time.
Sunshine Stars then took a shock lead one minute after the hour mark.
It took Wasiu Alalade’s 73rd minute intervention to rescue a point for the hosts and avoid a first home defeat this season.
In Enugu, Rangers eased to a 2-0 win over MFM of Lagos, with Tope Olusesi and Ossy Martins netting in the first half.
Enyimba secured an away point with a 0-0 draw against Gombe United, as Abia Warriors and Nasarawa United bagged home wins against Heartland and Lobi Stars respectively.
