ADEMOLA Lookman did not hide his displeasure on Sunday night after Leicester City lost their Premier League clash 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium.

The forward, who just completed his switch of allegiance from England to Nigeria, scored Leicester City’s only goal in the defeat and was one of the Foxes’ best players in the game.

The defeat was Leicester City’s third in five winless Premier League games in 2022, but Lookman believes his side should have had a better result against Wolves.

“I’m very disappointed obviously. I think we dominated the game,” he told LCFC TV. “It’s now about us going forward and putting this game behind us. It’s not the result we wanted but we’ll keep on working.”

Despite the defeat, Lookman and his teammates were applauded off the pitch by their fans, and the 24-year-old felt the fans appreciated their good showing.

“Our performance today was very good,” he emphasised. “It’s a shame we didn’t get the three points that I think we deserved.”

Lookman, who has contributed six goals and four assists in 26 appearances (18 starts) in all competitions this season, revealed what Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers told the team after the defeat.

“He told us to keep our heads up, to not let our heads drop,” he said. “The performance today was a lot more like us. He wants us to keep on working.

“Games come quickly. We got an unfortunate result today but we have the next fixture to put it right.”

Leicester City are 11th in the Premier League table with 27 points from 23 games.
