VICTOR Osimhen has urged his Napoli team not to give up in the Serie A title race after they dropped two points on Monday night.
The Nigeria international came off the bench to equalise for Napoli with a powerful header in the 87th minute to earn a 1-1 draw at Calgiari.
Napoli would have risen to the top of the table with a win, but the draw kept them in third place, two points behind leaders AC Milan, who also drew at the weekend.
Osimhen’s side failed to take advantage of AC Milan’s draw with Salernitana and second-placed Inter Milan’s shock home defeat to Sassuolo, leaving Osimhen disappointed but hopeful.
“Disappointing result but we will keep pushing till the end #ForzaNapoliSempre @sscnapoli,” Osimhen tweeted after the match.
The Super Eagles striker is Napoli’s top scorer with 11 goals in all competitions this season despite missing a chunk of the campaign through injury.
The 23-year-old striker broke his cheekbone in a clash of heads in November and had to undergo surgery, missing key club and country matches, including the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
He returned to action recently wearing a protective mask but it has not affected his performances, as he has not stopped scoring.
