MOSES Simon could be on his way to England in the summer to play in the Premier League.
Reports in France are claiming that the Super Eagles star is a subject of keen interest from Newcastle United.
Indeed, newly-rich Newcastle United are in a race with Leeds United for the in-form Nigeria forward, French outlet BUT has claimed.
The report added that discussions have started between Newcastle and Simon’s entourage and a first salary proposal has been made.
Nantes are reportedly valuing the 26-year-old Nigeria international at around €20m.
Simon’s current contract runs until 2024 and a fee of €20m should not deter Newcastle United, who were recently bought by Saudi Arabian billionaires.
The Magpies splashed some cash on new players in January and have seen an upsurge in form that has left them nine games unbeaten and away from the relegation zone.
Simon, who was Nigeria’s best player at the Africa Cup of Nations in January, has been in outstanding form for Nantes this season.
The skillful wide forward has scored three goals and made seven assists in 22 Ligue 1 appearances this season.
Newcastle and Leeds are not alone in the chase for the Super Eagles star, as Ligue 1 sides including Marseille are also interested.
