VICTOR Osimhen was the latest Super Eagles player to report at the team’s camp in Abuja on Tuesday.
The Napoli striker joined up with his teammates in the evening to raise the number of players in camp to 21 out of the invited 25.
Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has withdrawn from the squad due to an illness and he has been replaced by Enyimba’s John Noble.
Leicester City forward Ademola Lookman is expected to jet in from England on Wednesday after doubts had been raised about his availability.
The forward missed his club’s Premier League win over Brentford on Sunday through illness but he has now recovered and will be in contention for action against Ghana.
Lookman, born in England to Nigerian parents, will be looking to make his senior international debut for Nigeria after switching allegiance from England, whom he represented at age-grade level.
The Super Eagles are in Abuja preparing for the Qatar 2022 World Cup playoffs against Ghana.
The first leg of the tie is set for the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday, with the return fixture billed for the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja next Tuesday.
The Super Eagles held their first training at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on Tuesday evening from around 6.30pm under the floodlights, with all 21 players participating.
Osimhen joined fellow Tuesday arrivals, Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze, Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis and Glasgow Rangers pair Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey to train under the supervision of Austin Eguavoen.
France-based midfielder Innocent Bonke, who was called up to replace the injured Wilfred Ndidi, as well as Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi and Spain-bassd centre-back Kenneth Omeruo also joined the team on Tuesday.
The only players being expected as at Tuesday night were Noble, Akinkunmi Amoo of FC Copenhagen, Lookman and Sadiq Umar.
