ARSENAL have given an update on Thomas Partey’s injury situation, suggesting that the Ghana midfielder will be unavailable for several weeks.
Partey limped off during the Premier League fixture at Crystal Palace on Monday as Arsenal were comprehensively beaten 3-0.
On Thursday, the Gunners gave a medical update, providing more details about the injury.
“Here’s the latest from our medical team on Thomas Partey,” Arsenal wrote on their official website.
“Our No. 5 was substituted during Monday night’s game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after aggravating his right thigh.
“Thomas has since received further assessments, and a subsequent scan has shown muscle damage to his right thigh.
“We will continue to assess Thomas in the coming weeks, during which time he will also receive further specialist consultations.
“Everyone will be working hard to get Thomas back on the pitch as soon as possible.”
Partey, who scored the decisive goal for Ghana as they overcame Nigeria in the World Cup playoffs, has made 24 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season, contributing two goals and one assist.
