AN Ikeja Magistrate Court, yesterday, ordered that a 37-year-old primary school driver, Kingsley Okwumbu, be remanded in custody for defiling a three-year-old pupil of Beehive Nursery and Primary School, Agidingbi, Ikeja.
Okwumbu, who resides in Ikeja, Lagos was dragged by the police before Magistrate Ejiro Kubeinje for defilement and sexual assault.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, told the court that Okwumbu committed the offense in March. He said Okwumbu, was a school bus driver at Beehive Nursery and Primary School.
Magistrate after hearing the matter, did not take Okwumbu’s plea but ordered that he be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre, and directed the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The case was adjourned to May 10, 2022 for further hearing.
