NIGERIA advanced to the final round of qualifying for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on Saturday night with victory over Egypt.

The Flamingos beat their hosts 2-0 in Cairo to progress 6-0 on aggregate.

The Nigerian girls had won the first leg 4-0 in Abuja two weeks ago, and they did not look like surrendering that huge advantage in Egypt as they dominated their hosts.

The Flamingos cruised to victory in Cairo courtesy of first-half goals.

Opeyemi Ajakaye got them on their way after only five minutes, while Amina Bello struck nine minutes later.

The Egyptians must have feared the worst with those early goals but the Nigerian girls eased off in the second half and coasted to victory.

The Flamingos will face either Ethiopia or South Africa in the final round of qualifying.

Ethiopia hold the advantage in that tie after shocking South Africa 3-0 away in the first leg.
