THE Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has found a new sponsor in Bitnob, the League Management Company (LMC) announced today.
The Nigerian top flight has been running without a major sponsor for several years and Bitnob will join as a category sponsor.
“The League Management Company (LMC) and Bitnob Technologies Inc., a leading financial technology company, have reached an understanding for the sponsorship of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL),” the LMC stated.
LMC Chairman Shehu Dikko said the two parties will meet on Tuesday in Lagos to officially unveil the partnership and make public important details of the relationship, the statement added.
Dikko said the deal is mutually beneficial as the NPFL will project Bitnob’s services while the fintech outfit will support the league’s growth.
Bitnob, a payment solutions company, will be an elite sponsor of the NPFL in the financial technology category.
The NPFL is currently being led by Rivers United of Port Harcourt, with Plateau United of Jos a distant second.
