EMMANUEL Dennis is expected to remain in the Premier League for next season despite Watford’s relegation to the Championship.

The Super Eagles forward was Watford’s top scorer last season as they went down but his performances have attracted Premier League suitors, including Everton.

With Richarlison on the verge of joining Tottenham Hotspur in a reported £50m deal, Everton are looking to Dennis as replacement for the Brazil forward.

The Nigeria international scored 10 goals and made six assists in 33 Premier League appearances last season, meaning he was involved in almost half of Watford’s 34 goals for the entire campaign.

The 24-year-old joined Watford from Club Brugge for €4m last year and has four years left on his contract.

Reports in England claimed Watford would be looking to sell Dennis for around £15m as his profile has risen since his first season in the Premier League.

Although Sky Sports reported last night that two unnamed Premier League clubs were keen on buying Dennis, it is widely believed that Everton are the closest to acquiring his services.

If the deal goes through, Dennis would be joining Super Eagles teammate Alex Iwobi at Everton while leaving behind William Troost-Ekong, Samuel Kalu and Maduka Okoye at Watford.
