The Nigerian contingent in Birmingham for the 2022 Commonwealth Games is made up of 94 athletes, the sports ministry confirmed today.
The Games will be official declared open tonight with a ceremony at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, United Kingdom, and the competition will be held until August 8.
The 94 athletes will compete in nine sports, with new world record holder and World Athletics Championships gold medallist Tobi Amusan, Oregon 2022 silver medallist Ese Brume and Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Blessing Oborududu all included.
Big Brother Nigeria 2019 star and high jumper Mike Edwards, American collegiate sprints sensation Favour Ofili, wrestling star Odunayo Adekuoroye and table tennis champion Aruna Quadri are also in the Team Nigeria squad.
