Erling Halaand marked his Manchester City Premier League debut by scoring both goals in their 2-0 win over West Ham at the London City Stadium today.

The Norway international joined the champions from Borussia Dortmund for £51m in July and came with a big reputation of being a prolific striker.

He justified the reputation quickly in London today, scoring in each half as the champions eased to victory.

Haaland struck first from the penalty spot in the 36th minute after he was brought down in the box by West Ham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.

The goalkeeper had come in as a substitute for the injured Lukasz Fabianski and his first real piece of action was giving away the spot kick.

City were in total control and cruised to half-time without facing any danger from the hosts.

Haaland wrapped up City’s victory 20 minutes into the second half with a composed left-foot finish from Kevin de Bruyne’s brilliant defence-splitting pass.
