Nottingham Forest are keen to add Emmanuel Dennis to their squad to join up with his Super Eagles colleague Taiwo Awoniyi.

Nigeria international Awoniyi became Forest’s record signing in July when he joined them for £17 million from Union Berlin, but Dennis is set to cost the promoted side even more.

They have had an interest in Dennis for some time and reports emerged today that Steve Cooper’s side have made a significant offer to Watford for the Super Eagles forward.

According to reports in The Times and The Athletic, Forest have tabled a £20m opening bid for Dennis, and the figure includes any potential add-ons.

Dennis was Watford’s top scorer last season, scoring 10 Premier League goals as they got relegated, and his pace and versatility are believed to have attracted Cooper, who has already added more than 10 players to his squad.

Watford are believed to be holding out for £25m for Dennis, who has started their two Championship fixtures this season.

Other clubs, including Everton and Villarreal, are also said to be interested in the 24-year-old Nigerian.
