Emmanuel Dennis is set to return to the Premier League as he is on the verge of completing a move to Nottingham Forest from Watford.

The Super Eagles forward went down to the Championship with Watford at the end of last season, but Forest, who got promoted to the Premier League, are about to sign him.

Following reports yesterday that Forest made a bid to Watford for Dennis, the latest development today is that the offer has been accepted.

The Athletic reported today that there is an agreement in principle between the two clubs for Dennis’ switch, with a fee of around £20 million accepted by Watford.

Final negotiations with Dennis about personal terms will follow and the 24-year-old Nigeria international is expected to accept Forest’s offer.

Dennis, who is set to become Forest’s record signing, will join his Super Eagles colleague Taiwo Awoniyi at the club.

Incidentally, Awoniyi, who cost £17m from Union Berlin this summer, is currently Forest’s most expensive signing ever.

Dennis was Watford’s top scorer last season, netting 10 Premier League goals as they got relegated, and his pace and versatility are believed to have attracted Forest boss Steve Cooper, who has already added more than 10 players to his squad.

He will be leaving behind at Watford his fellow Nigerians William Troost-Ekong, Samuel Kalu, Maduka Okoye and Tom Dele-Bashiru.
