AMERICAN pop star, Britney Spears, has responded to her 15-year-old son, Jayden, after speaking out in defense of her father (and his grandfather) Jamie Spears, in an interview set to air on British network ITV on Friday, September 2.
In the interview with documentarian Daphne Barak, Jayden jumped to his grandfather’s defence pertaining to the conservatorship. “At first he was just trying to be like any father letting her pursue her daughter’s dream of becoming a superstar but I did think maybe the conservatorship went on too long, probably why my Mum was very angry about the whole situation that she was working for too long and I personally think she was,” he said in the interview, which was released a day prior by the Daily Mail.
In an emotional Instagram post on Friday, September 2, 2022, Britney stressed how she is trying to be the best person she can be and how much she loves her children.
Part of her post reads, “I’ve tried my best at being the best person I can be…to be basically held hostage in homes under nurses and bullshit. I hope my kids one day understand my reasoning of my play in water revealing myself as any woman would being held under blankets and supervision under the conservatorship!!! Finally at 40 without the restraints of what my family did to me…I say to my son Jayden that I send all the love in the world to you everyday for the rest of my life!!! My love for my children has no boundaries and it deeply saddens me to know his outcry of saying I wasn’t up to his expectations of a mother…and maybe one day we can meet face to face and talk about this openly!!! Maybe dear child YOU can explain to me why our family would do that to anyone!!!”
Since the end of her 13-year-old conservatorship, 41-year-old Britney has been very vocal about how she was treated by her family during the conservatorship.
