FORMER American president, Barack Obama, has won an Emmy Award for the best narrator for his Netflix documentary series, Our Great National Parks.
The series showcases natural beauty spanning five continents and features locations including Chilean Patagonia and Indonesia.
His production company, Higher Ground, is behind the five-part series on national parks around the world.
The former president and his wife Michelle set up the company, striking a deal with Netflix reportedly worth tens of millions of dollars.
He is the only second US president in history to win an Emmy, putting him halfway to becoming an Egot. Egot is someone with Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards.
The first president to win an Emmy was Dwight Eisenhower in 1956, winning an honorary award for becoming the first president to conduct a televised news conference.
Other contenders in the best narrator category included David Attenborough, Lupita Nyong’o and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
