Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face the United States of America tomorrow in the second of two friendlies as both sides prepare for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The second game will be played in Washington, DC, three days after the world champions thrashed the nine-time African champions 4-0 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Sophia Smith scored twice while Lindsay Horan and veteran Alex Morgan bagged one each on Saturday, and the Super Falcons will hope to limit the damage tomorrow.
The encounter will take place at the Audi Field in Washington, which is the home ground of National Women’s Soccer League side Washington Spirit and Major League Soccer team DC United.
The game will kick off at 11pm Nigerian time (6pm in Washington, DC).
Meanwhile, before their clash with the United States Women’s National Team in Kansas City, the Super Falcons had a ‘meet and greet’ session with some prominent Nigerians based in the State of Missouri.
The Nigerians who met with the Super Falcons included Adeola Ajayi (ex-Nigeria basketball team player), Chioma Atanmo (Community Manager, Sporting KC), Olofu Agbaji (ex-Nigeria basketball team player), Tijani Idris (ex-Nigeria basketball team player) and David Ehindero (a US-based Nigerian businessman).
Also at the session were John Allagh (ex-Nigeria basketball team player), Prince Tega (a player with NFL football team, Kansas City Chiefs), Ochai Agbaji (ex-Nigeria basketball team player) and Victor Ejelonu (CEO, My Village Grill Restaurant).
