Three players with Nigerian blood were involved today as Udinese defeated Inter Milan to climb to the top of the Serie A standings.
Isaac Success, Kingsley Ehizibue and Destiny Udogie were all in the Udinese side that came from behind to beat the Milan giants and return to the league summit.
While Udogie was on from the start, Success and Ehizibue were second half substitutes at the Stadio Friuli as Udinese earned their fifth win of the season.
Udogie, the 19-year-old Italian youth international with Nigerian heritage, has played six times in Serie A this season, scoring twice.
He is on loan back at Udinese after signing for Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
Super Eagles star Success, who has played for Nigeria at U-17, U-20 and senior level, was on for the last 21 minutes against Inter.
The 26-year-old former Watford forward has featured in all seven of Udinese’s Serie A games this season, starting four of them.
On his part, Ehizibue also played the last 21 minutes of today’s big win as goals in the 85th minute and added time from Jaka Bijol and Tolgay Arslan cancelled out Inter’s opening strike from Nico Barella.
Ehizibue, who was born in The Netherlands and played U-21 football for them before getting invited to the Super Eagles in 2020, has made four Serie A appearances for Udinese this season since joining them on August 31.
