TODAY at a rally in support of Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Asaba, the capital of Delta State, was shut down.
On Saturday, October 1, the enthusiastic supporters—who are primarily young people—staged a road walk to mobilize support for the Obi-Datti presidential ticket, halting socioeconomic activities for several hours.
Again, today’s road walk followed a similar pattern as members of different Obidient Movement support groups gathered at the Inter Bau Flyover, marched through Nnebisi Road to the traffic light at Ezinei junction, and then circled back to the starting place.
According to Kingsley Imoni-Ogbe of the YES Peter Obi Support Group, who serves as the group’s state coordinator, The former governor of Anambra State, is the only candidate who has the potential to change the nation for the better.
He asserted that the gathering served as a sign that Nigerians were sick of the country’s veteran politicians.
