THE Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate for the Oyo South Senatorial District, Chief Joseph Tegbe, has pledged to provide a quality representation for the people If elected to the senate in the 2023 election.
Tegbe who ran for governor on the platform of the All Progressives Congress before defecting to the PDP joined the Muslims yesterday in Oyo State to celebrate this year’s Eid-il-Maulud in Ibadan. While speaking to the them he pledged to continue to put their welfare first.
The League of Imams and Alfas in the state’s Ibadan North-East Local Government Area organized the Maulud Nabbyyi program, which took place at the Iwo Road Central Mosque.
While giving their speeches, some Islamic leaders highlighted their concerns over what they perceived as the senatorial district’s representatives’ lack of accessibility in the higher legislative chamber.
However, during the celebrations, they applauded Tegbe for his years of assistance to the Muslim community and others, including the less fortunate.
The senatorial candidate promised to continue to be reachable and accessible and to put their welfare first If elected as senator in the general elections of 2023. He also asked for the Muslim Ummah’s support for his campaign.
Tegbe promised to continue supporting Muslim pilgrims going on the hajj and to donate a bus to the League of Imams and Alfas to help with the smooth running of its activities.
He said, “I assure you of quality representation and I will do everything to facilitate projects that will have direct impacts on the lives of the people of the senatorial district, if elected senator in 2023.”
