Victor Osimhen intends to stay at Napoli for a long time, according to his agent Roberto Calenda.

The Super Eagles striker was heavily linked with a move to various clubs in the summer, including Manchester United and Arsenal.

He joined Napoli from Lille in September 2020 for €80m and signed a long-term contract that will expire in June 2025.

Calenda insists Osimhen is happy at the Serie A leaders and is looking to honour his contract.

“We haven’t found just out now that Osimhen is the subject of interest from so many teams, but things are done in three ways: who sells, who buys and the player,” Calenda told Radio Kiss Kiss in Naples today.

“I was immediately clear this summer because I knew there would be a lot of news coming out from those who had other interests perhaps. But I, the boy and Napoli had very clear ideas.”

He insisted that there was no truth tl the reports of Osimhen wanting to move on from Napoli to join United in an exchange deal for Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Whoever talked about a departure made a mistake. It was Victor’s will to stay at Napoli and play the Champions League that he won entry to last year together with his teammates,” Calenda asserted.

“Victor wanted exactly that, to have a great year with Napoli, between the league and the Champions League. He has a long contract with the Azzurri. The market is dynamic, but our will is to continue at Napoli and continue to do well.”

Osimhen, 23, has made only eight appearances for Napoli this season due to an injury setback, but he has still contributed four goals and one assist as they lead Serie A and their UEFA Champions League group.

He returned from a muscle injury last week and has scored twice in the two games since then.
