Victor Osimhen has dedicated his first-ever club hat-trick to his new-born daughter.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international announced the birth of his first daughter in early October and named the girl Hailey True.
He bagged his first hat-trick on Saturday in Napoli’s 4-0 home win over Sassuolo and remembered his new child in the celebrations.
“Every time I score I dedicate my goal to my daughter. This hat-trick is for her,” Osimhen said afterwards.
“I’m having the time of my life and I just want to enjoy it.”
Osimhen, who was named the man of the match, was also grateful for the support from his teammates and head coach Luciano Spalletti.
“I’m delighted and I’d like to thank the team who’ve helped me a great deal to settle back into the swing of things after my injury,” he added.
“I’d like to congratulate all of my teammates. They’re top players and the whole squad is blessed with quality.
“I’d also like to thank the coach for the faith he’s shown in me and I’m keen to keep this up, both individually and collectively.”
Osimhen has scored in each of his four games for Napoli since returning from injury and he is the joint-top scorer in Serie A with seven goals, despite playing only eight of his club’s 12 league fixtures.
