THE National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) will graduate 78 students from its 15th Executive Management Course (EMC) next month in order to address the security issues in Nigeria and other African nations.

The participants were from the armed forces, paramilitaries, regulatory organizations, MDAs, and from four African nations of Rwanda, the Niger Republic, Ghana, and The Gambia.

NISS Commandant A. S. Adeleke said while speaking at a media briefing in Abuja yesterday that the 10-month program, which began in February, would conclude next months with a ceremony in Abuja.

A well-known pan-Africanist and public speaker, Professor Patrice Lumumba, is scheduled to provide the keynote address, titled “Global Climate Challenge: Prospects and Priorities for Economic Development and Conflict Resolution in Africa.”

He reported that the goal of the course was to examine the current climate crisis and its implications for both economic growth and conflict resolution.

“We have modules ranging from security, intelligence, strategic studies and we invited some technocrats and people from the academia as well including governors and traditional rulers that brought their perspectives,” he said.
