PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP’s North-East chieftain, Mole Istifanus-Bennet, has left the party in the State today.

Reports reveal that the former women’s leader in the state, Istifanus-Bennet, refused to give a reason for her resignation.

However, there have been reports that groups of current and former women leaders from 11 local government have complained that the PDP governorship candidate failed to involve them in campaign events.

Istifanus-Bennet was said to have threatened to resign if the candidate, Jibrin Barde, didn’t make amends, highlighting the possibility that their political capital might be used to support the opposition’s efforts to keep the government in place.

While leaving she thanked the party for giving her the chance to serve in the letter she wrote to the PDP chairman of Kaltungo West Ward.

The letter partly read, “I wish to humbly write and respectfully inform you of my decision to withdraw my membership from the party as from today.

“I would want to use this medium to most sincerely thank the leadership of the party at all levels for giving me the opportunity to serve.”
