Sammie Okposo’s family announces burial arrangements

THE funeral preparations for the late gospel singer Sammie Okposo have been made public by the musician’s family.

According to the obituary published today, Sammie would be laid to rest on Thursday, December 15th,

A night of remembrances will be held for him on Tuesday, December 13 at the La Madison Place in Oniru, Lagos, starting at 5 p.m. This will be followed on Wednesday, December 14, by a service of songs at the House on the Rock Cathedral in Lekki.

Additionally, it was disclosed that the singer would be buried on December 15 in a strictly invitation-only private burial.

Sammie Okposo, the well-known “Welu Welu” singer, passed away on Friday, November 25, apparently after slumping while receiving treatment for fatigue.

Sammie is one of the most well-known gospel performers in Nigeria. The musician has appeared on the soundtracks of numerous other gospel songs and Nollywood movies, including the classic movie Issakaba.

His last album, The Statement (2018), was produced by the Grammy-winning Kevin Bond.
