Samuel Eto’o has been caught on video as he attacked a man believed to be either a football fan or a cameraman outside the Stadium 974 in Qatar last night.

The incident apparently happened shortly after Brazil defeated South Korea 4-1 in a Qatar 2022 World Cup round of 16 clash at the Doha stadium.

Footage of the incident was shared on social media but it is unclear what caused the altercation, with the fisticuffs taking place moments after retired superstar Eto’o posed for photos with football fans.

Eto’o is the current president of FECAFOOT, Cameroon’s football federation, and a FIFA ambassador for the World Cup in Qatar.

In a video shared by La Opinion, the 41-year-old former Barcelona star is seen reacting to something said or done by a man outside the stadium.

Those around Eto’o try to hold him back as he approaches the man, attempting to grab and push him away.

The former Indomitable Lions captain then appears to knee the man in the face before being held back once more as the unidentified man — who seemed to have his camera confiscated by another man — gets to his feet.

Eto’o could face severe sanctions for his actions but FIFA, FECAFOOT and the Qatari authorities are yet to comment.
