Nigerian singer Davido will be part of the Qatar 2022 World Cup closing ceremony in Doha, according to Chinese businessman Stephen Hung.
Davido recently lost his young son Ifeanyi and cancelled his proposed tour of the United States of America in the wake of the tragedy.
The Afrobeats superstar is set to make a grand return to the spotlight on a global stage though, Hung claimed in a social media post today.
“So happy my bro #Davido confirmed he will be performing at the World Cup Qatar closing ceremony. Can’t wait to see him there,” Hung wrote on Instagram.
Hung, 63, is a Hong Kong-based Chinese millionaire businessman, although his ties to the World Cup in Qatar are not clear.
Davido is one of the singers of the Qatar 2022 official song ‘Hayya Hayya’ along with Aisha and Trinidad Cardona.
The World Cup’s closing ceremony will be held on December 18 at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Doha.
