NASARAWA: PDP gov candidate pledges to provide free health insurance

THE governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, David Ombugadu has pledged to provide a free health insurance program for the state’s indigent residents, If elected governor of Nasarawa State in 2023.

Ombugadu stated this today during the party’s campaign in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.

He said, “Health is wealth, so if I am elected as governor in 2023, I will ensure that residents of the state especially the indigent ones enjoy good health care.

“The widows, orphans and other vulnerable people in the state will be the first to be considered in the health insurance scheme because I understand their challenges.”

The PDP candidate also promised to construct the road linking Doma – Nasarawa LGAs to the Federal Capital Territory if he got the mandate.

The Nasarawa State PDP Chairman, Francis Orogu, on his part expressed optimism to win the Nasarawa West senatorial seat vacated by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and other political seats in the state.

Reports reveal that Adamu vacated the seat as the senator representing the zone when he was elected as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in March, 2022.

Also speaking at the event, former Minister of Information and the Director-General of the state PDP campaign, Labaran Maku, called on residents of the state to vote for all candidates of the PDP in the coming elections.

Maku also urged the people to vote for the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, saying, “He is a detribilised Nigerian, well experienced, tested and trusted in various positions.”
