TUESDAY, December 13, 2022, will remain indelible in the minds of Nigerians, performing musicians and in the history books as a day the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN) unveiled its multi million naira music house to the world after 40 years the project was started.
The complex located inside Chevy View Estate, Chevron Lekki is historic because this is the first time in the history of association that an office is 100 percent owned by PMAN.
The beautiful and tastefully furnished office complex which was completed under the leadership of Pretty Okafor and his executives saw entertainers and invited guests from all works of life gather for the unveiling.
The legendary King Sunny Ade (KSA) who could not stop heaping praises on Okafor and his excos for achieving this feat had the honour of officially unveiling the music house.
Speaking at the event, KSA who was a past PMAN president said he was filled with pride to see a project he started come to reality under this present PMAN dispensation.
Another historic achievement made by Association under current PMAN leadership is the online radio (PMAN FM), which is located inside the imposing edifice and live on air. The station can be downloaded from the Google playstore.
The historic development left all registered members of the association and invited guests that graced the event in awe, as they could not stop commending the President, Okafor and his excos consisting of Sunny Neji (1st Vice President), Zaaki-Azzay (2nd Vice President), Ital Bonie aka Boniface Itodo (General Secretary), Asha Gangali (National Treasurer) and Ugochukwu Stephen ala Ruggedman (Chairman Media) for the achievement.
According to Okafor, the project became a reality following the introduction of N6000 biometric registration powered powered by Zenith Bank, which sees a member of the association walk into any branch of the bank or logon to the official website www.pman.ng to register.
He said further that the exercise does not stop at walking into any branch of Zenith Bank or registering online, he added that registered members get benefits that includes health insurance, life insurance, a pension plan and more.
The initiative, many members at the event attested was the first great feat by Okafor and his team of executives, showing they have the interest of Nigerian entertainers and entertainment at heart.
Guests present at the unveiling included Pastor Adegoke of House on the Rock Church, who dedicated the music house to God through prayer.
Others are Director General MCSN, Mayo Ayilaran; Alex O, Blacky, Skid Ikemefuna, Collins Enebeli (Mavins Grandpa), Zubby, Olisa Adibua, Femi Lasode, Kola Ogunkoya (Gbedu Master) and Germany based Niki Tall.
