IN order to conduct an investigation, the police in the state have unearthed the bodies of five people who were allegedly killed because they were witches or wizards

The exhumation was confirmed by the command’s spokeswoman, Irene Ugbo, who said, “The murder of the suspects is barbaric and unacceptable. We will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the arrested suspects face the full weight of the law.”

According to Daily Trust today, youths in the Odukpani LGA’s Ndong Nwong community beat five people to death: Iquo Edet Eyo, Michael Robert, Etim Ekpenyong Ekpo, Akang Eyo, and Atim Ekpo.

Witnesses reveal that before they were executed, the victims allegedly underwent torture to get confessional statements.

Adding that, police investigation reveals that whomever killed the victims carried their bodies to a forest and buried them there in an unmarked grave.
