FORMER Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Doyin Okupe declared on his Twitter account yesterday night that his enemies will keep losing.
The distraught Labour Party leader was found guilty of violating the Money Laundering Act yesterday by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
He was then given the option of serving two and a half years in prison or paying a N13 million fine before 4:30 p.m. yesterday. Okupe paid the fine ahead of time.
Naijatimes previously reported that the presiding judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, offered Okupe an option of a N500, 000 fine on each of the 26 count charges, totaling N13,000,000 for which he was found guilty in a lawsuit brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of which Okupe was the first defendant.
Okupe would have been transported to the Kuje Correctional Center if the fines on all the offenses for which he was found guilty had not been paid by the deadline.
In response to the court drama, Okupe remarked in a tweet yesterday night that his adversaries kept falling short in their accusations adding that God is superior to man.
