IMO: Gunmen hit ex-Gov Ohakim’s convoy, kill policemen

POLICEMEN attached to Ikedi Ohakim were killed when gunmen attacked the former governor’s convoy yesterday.

It was gathered that the incident happened as the former governor was returning from Orieagu in Ehime Mbano area of the state.

It was not clear whether he was going to his house at Okohia in Isiala Mbano or going to Owerri, the state capital, but eye witnesses said when the gunmen were unable to get him, they hit the backup vehicle conveying the police and set it on fire.

This led to the death of four of his police orderlies.
