ENYIMBA recovered from last week’s defeat at Plateau United to record their second Nigeria Premier Football League win of the season today, beating visiting Kwara United 3-0 in Aba.
The People’s Elephant scored twice in the first half through Emeka Obioma and Adebambo Ademola and Obioma again after the break to rise to third in the Group A table.
They are five points behind surprise leaders Bendel Insurance.
The promoted Benin-based Insurance have won all their four games of this shortened campaign, as they remain the only side with a perfect 100 percent record across the two groups.
They cemented their spot at the top with a stunning 3-0 home win over Remo Stars yesterday, with the brilliant Imade Osehenkhoe scoring his fourth goal of the season.
Also today in Group A, Akwa United defeated Plateau United 1-0 in Uyo, the same score with which Shooting Stars beat El-Kanemi Warriors in Ibadan.
The only draw in the group today was between Gombe United and Nasarawa United, who played 1-1.
In Group B, Kumaga Suur scored twice as Lobi Stars thrashed visitors Bayelsa United 3-0 to rise to second spot behind champions Rivers United.
In the other games in the group, Sunshine Stars edged past Abia Warriors 1-0 in Akure, with the encounters between Niger Tornadoes and Enugu Rangers as well as Wikki Tourists and Doma United both ending goalless.
