SUPER Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro is convinced the Flying Eagles will be heading to the FIFA U-20 World Cup from the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The Nigerian lads will take part in the U-20 AFCON from February 19 to March 11 in Egypt, from where four of the 12 teams will qualify to represent the continent in Indonesia in May and June.

Peseiro was present at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project pitch today as the Flying Eagles defeated Capital City Football Academy 4-0 in a friendly match to add to their impressive run of friendly results.

The warm-up game was another preparatory session for the friendly against Junior Chipolopolo of Zambia on Saturday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, as part of the general preparations for the U-20 AFCON in Egypt.

Goals from Samson Lawal, Agbalaka Solomon, Olamilekan Adams and Yahaya Ibrahim ensured the Flying Eagles extended their unbeaten run to 16 games.

A delighted Peseiro, while speaking with Flying Eagles Ladan Bosso said the team has a lot of quality and had convinced him that they will do well enough in Egypt to qualify them for the FIFA U-20 World Cup finals in Indonesia.

The Portuguese tactician was at the match venue together with NFF Technical Director Augustine Eguavoen.

The Flying Eagles are billed to play Zambia on Saturday before the team departs Nigeria for Morocco on Wednesday next week.
