YOUR skin is as important as your total wellbeing. And because the weather has not been consistent for a couple days, there are bad skincare habit you need to kick out!

With resolutions as simple as drinking more water or getting enough beauty sleep, we’ve got you covered in achieving a more radiant, glowy skin.

Here are some tips to guide you.

Be consistent with cleansing

You don’t want to continue applying your moisturiser or makeup on top of dirty skin, right? Then, this year, you must make a vow to be consistent with your cleansing routine. You should cleanse twice daily with a facial cleanser formulated for your skin type, every morning before applying your makeup for the day and every evening before going to bed.

Make moisturising a priority

It is important that you make it a priority to moisturise your skin at least twice daily. Moisturising doesn’t just feel great but also helps your skin become clear, smooth, and wrinkle-free. Besides, this routine is important even if you have oily skin or breakouts as experts say skipping moisturiser can make breakouts worse. If pimples or shininess are an issue for you, then use an oil-free moisturizer.

Vow to exfoliate regularly

Also vow to add frequent exfoliation, by either chemical or physical exfoliation, to your skincare routine. This will buff away dead skin and, in turn, also help with other skincare imperfections. Make a resolution to exfoliate your skin twice a week. Make this a ritual and you will see a world of difference.

Take sun protection seriously

Vow to wear sunscreen always, even when the sky is overcast; because harmful UV rays can penetrate your skin and cause damage on cloudy days too. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Do always seek shade, and cover up exposed areas with protective clothing and UV-blocking sunglasses.

Take your makeup off each night

Know this: when you sleep, your makeup can mix with the dirt and oils that have built up on the surface of your skin, and this can lead to clogged pores. To make things easy on yourself, keep a cleanser and cotton pad near your bedside so that you can easily wipe your face before dozing off.

Resolve to drink more water daily

Consider making it a ritual to drink more water as indulging in this is one simple way to transform your skin.  Experts say you should drink eight glasses of water a day as staying hydrated will work wonders for your skin and health.

Sleep more

Make it your 2023 goal to get a good night’s sleep always; this can make you look and feel good. During your peaceful slumber, your body goes into repair mode to regenerate skin, blood, brain cells and muscles. As a result, getting a good night’s sleep can help with improved skin elasticity and complexion while skipping it can accelerate the skin’s ageing process, increase wrinkles and reduce skin hydration.
