THE presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, has polled the most votes in Nasarawa State’s presidential election which was carried out on Saturday.
Obi received 191,361 votes, with Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress receiving 172,922 votes and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party receiving 147,093 votes.
Prof. Ishaya Tanko, the collation officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission in Nasarawa State, revealed the presidential election results in Lafia today.
Tanko, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos in Plateau State, said that the NNPP presidential candidate received 12,715 votes.
According to the Collation Officer, the total number of registered voters in the state were 2,552,716 and the total number of valid votes were 540,566.
He noted that the state had 562,464 accredited voters, while the overall number of votes cast were 556,937, with 16,371 rejected votes.
