THE Independent National Electoral Commission has suspended the collation of results in Imo State’s Nkwerre/ Nwangele/ Njaba/ Isu Federal Constituency.
The suspension came as a result of the disappearance of the results sheets and results of the Njaba Local Government Area election.
According to INEC, the results of the three LGAs collated showed that Ugonna Ozurigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party received 16, 846 votes, while Harrison Nwadike of the All Progressives Congress received 6, 784 votes.
The Labour Party candidate received 6, 609 votes, putting her in third place.
Roseline Ogechukwu, the returning officer for the election, who suspended the election, stated that she could not return any candidate when the results of the four LGAs had not yet been fully collected.
She added that all election-related matters would be transferred to the INEC headquarters in Owerri, the state capital.
So far however, the PDP has won all three LGA elections in the constituency.
