MANCHESTER United coach Erik ten Hag has included Victor Osimhen in a shortlist of targets for the club in the summer, according to reports.
Osimhen has been in fantastic form this season, scoring 21 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for Napoli.
The Super Eagles striker has scored in each of his last eight games and is the leading scorer in Serie A with 19 goals in 20 matches.
Ten Hag is believed to be demanding two major signings in the summer and one of his top targets is Osimhen, who is inspiring Napoli towards their first Serie A title since 1990.
The Manchester Evening News reported today that Ten Hag’s first choice in the summer is Osimhen, with Napoli expected to make the capture of their Nigerian talisman a tough task.
Manchester United have had an impressive first season under Ten Hag, with the club ending a six-year trophy drought by beating Newcastle United on Sunday to win the Carabao Cup.
The former Ajax boss is now eyeing more success and he believes Osimhen and one other major arrival will be the catalysts.
Acquiring Osimhen will be difficult though, with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis a known tough negotiator who does not easily let go of prized assets like the 24-year-old Nigerian.
Osimhen’s contract with Napoli, who he joined in September 2020 for €80 million, will expire in June 2025, and Napoli could demand up to €120m for the prolific hitman.
