SUPER Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has been nominated along with Marcus Rashford and four other players for the Premier League Player of the Month award for February.
In the category for managers, Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag will be vying for the award with Fulham’s Marco Silva and Tottenham Hotspur’s Antonio Conte.
Nigeria international Iheanacho earned the nomination following his five goal involvements in four matches for Leicester City in February.
He scored two goals and made three assists in the month. The former Manchester City star first registered one goal and two assists in a 4-2 win at Aston Villa, and followed that up with a goal and an assist in the 4-1 victory at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
On his part, Rashford netted five goals in four Manchester United matches in February, scoring in every fixture he played in during the month. He is up for his third Player of the Month award this season.
The other nominees include Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who kept three clean sheets in four matches, and Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal, who was impressive in victories over Manchester City, West Ham and Chelsea during the month.
Fulham forward Manor Solomon, who scored three goals in three successive substitute appearances, and Aston Villa striker Oliie Watkins, who netted four times in four fixtures, are also nominated.
In the manager category, Ten Hag earned his nomination by leading United to three wins and a draw in four games, while Silva’s Fulham were also unbeaten, winning two and drawing two in February.
Conte led Tottenham Hotspur to three wins in four matches in February despite only being able to attend only one match while recovering from gallbladder surgery.
Votes from fans will be combined with those of a panel of football experts to decide the winners of the awards, who will be announced next week.
