THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s Peter Jiya Ndalikali has been declared the winner of the Niger South (Zone A) Senate District Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Returning Officer for the Niger South Senatorial District, Prof. Abubakar Muhammad-Bitagi, stated on Monday that Peter Jiya had won the seat with 100,498 votes.
He added that Jiya defeated his nearest competitor, Bima Enagi of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who received 97,453 votes.
“That Mr Peter Ndalikali of PDP has won the senatorial election held on 25th day of February, 2023 and has certified the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” Muhammad-Bitagi said.
The Niger South Senatorial District include: Bida, Lavun, Edati, Mokwa, Gbako, Katcha, Agaie and Lapai Local Government Areas.
