THE President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has committed to work for all Nigerians by working hard from day one to deliver on his campaign promises.
He stated that he will lead a fair and inclusive administration that will unify all Nigerians.
Tinubu made the pledge while meeting with members of the All Progressives Congress’s National Working Committee.
He said, “It is going to be a fair government guided by the rule of law, justice and fairness. It is going to be hard work from day one and we are going to join hands in building a government of the people and by the people.
“We drew a strong commitment with Nigerians. From the primary we were transparent. We were committed to our ideals. We promised Nigerians that if we win we will work for all Nigerians.”
At about 2.35 p.m., the delegation arrived at his residence in Abuja on a congratulatory visit, which also included the APC National Chairman, Senator Adamu Abdullahi; National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel; Deputy National Women Leader, Zainab Ibrahim; Vice Chairman (North-East), Salihu Lukman; and National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore.
While highlighting the difficulties of electioneering in the country, Tinubu stated that he waged a rigorous campaign based on issues beginning with his bid for the APC’s ticket.
After receiving his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission yesterday, he said he felt a new sense of responsibility and promised to use his victory to unite Nigeria.
“I am committed to uniting the country. Definitely in any contest, particularly democratic contest, there must be losers and winners,” he stated.
Tinubu also commended the party’s leadership for their dedication and fortitude in bringing the party to victory against all odds.
Earlier in his speech, Adamu stated that, while transition elections are typically difficult for ruling parties, the APC’s triumph was long anticipated.
He also stated that the APC NWC came to support the president-elect and congratulate him on his election victory.
