THE announcement of the final results of the Ebonyi State governorship election on March 18, 2023 has been postponed.
Ugochi Onyeka, the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, made the announcement following the inability of the returning and collation officers for Ishielu Local Government Area to reconcile figures compiled by the ICT desk at the collation centre today.
Meanwhile, twelve of the thirteen local government areas where elections were held on Saturday have had their results announced, with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) leading with wins in nine of them.
Professor Ben Odo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) won two Local Government Areas, while Dr. Ifeanyi Odii of the Peoples Democratic Party won one.
Ugochi Onyeka, the REC for Ebonyi State, informed all present, including security chiefs, party representatives, and the media, that the final collation and announcement will be made at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
