A well-known businessman, Alhaji Nasiru Na’ayya, was abducted by gunmen in the early hours today in Gangarbi Village of Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State.
A witness who saw the incident and is related to the victim but does not want to be identified confirmed it.
He stated that the thugs broke into the businessman’s home around 12 a.m. and began shooting randomly into the air once inside, drawing attention from the victim’s neighborhood.
“When people of the area attempted to prevent the gunmen from going with the victim, they shot two people, which led to the death of one instantly and another was injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital,” the eyewitness further said.
It was learned that a series of gunmen attacks had recently occurred in Gangarbi village and nearby villages like Bari and Gwangwan.
When reached, SP Abdullahi Haruna, the spokesman for the Kano Police Command, confirmed the incident and said he was awaiting information from the Divisional Police Officer from the scene.
