THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has debunked viral information on social media that it is currently recruiting through a dubious EFCC recruitment 2023/2024 application portal dated April 7, 2023.

The commission stated that although the fraudsters have not yet started the application process, they have gone ahead to offer a link while urging the public to “share to other WhatsApp groups to help others.”

The Commission made this information public on its website.

IT added that in order for the fraudsters to give the appearance that their schemes were genuine, they slyly added the word “career” to the end of the Commission’s website address, making it read www.efcc.gov.ng/career.

While cautioning the public not to fall for trickery, it mentioned that the information spread via social media is false.

It added that information about the commission’s activities, including job openings, can be obtained from its official website, www.efcc.gov.ng.

“The attention of the EFCC, has been drawn to some information circulating in the social media, inviting unsuspecting applicants to submit applications through a dubious EFCC Recruitment 2023/2024 Application Portal dated 7th April, 2023.

“The Commission wishes to notify the public that it is currently not recruiting. Any information to the contrary circulating in the social media is false and the handiwork of mischief makers aimed at defrauding hapless job seekers,” part of the statement read.
