FEDERAL Government representatives welcomed the third batch of evacuees from Nigeria today in Abuja after traveling from Port Sudan.
According to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, the returnees, who number 131 and are largely women and children, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 1:45 p.m.
The officials expressed confidence that the procedure would go well.
Their arrival followed the yesterday afternoon arrival of the second group of Sudanese refugees in Nigeria.
A Tarco Airline plane carrying roughly 130 people from the second group touched down at the Abuja Airport around 3 o’clock.
The first group of refugees from the war-torn nation of North Africa entered the nation earlier on Wednesday night.
More Nigerians are expected to arrive in the coming days as four other airlines including Air Peace, Max Air, Azman Air, and Tarco Aviation are expected to convey them back to Nigeria.
