THE Action Peoples Party (APP) has asked to drop its suit contesting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election as president in the general elections of 2023.

The attorney for the APP, Obed Agu, also requested that the lawsuit be striked out and dismissed.

According to Agu, he was carrying out his client’s requests.

Tinubu’s attorney, Wole Olanipekun, responded by stating that neither he nor his client are challenging the request to withdraw, and they are also not seeking reimbursement for any fees.

Justice Haruna Tsammani, the chairman of the panel, subsequently rejected the lawsuit without attaching any fees.

The APP was contesting the results of the presidential election on the grounds that INEC regulations and electoral laws were allegedly not followed.

The court adjourned after the dismissal and will meet again at 2 o’clock to hear the Labour Party’s lawsuit.
